Ancient & Still

Sunday, November 2nd, 2025

4:00 - 6:00 pm

Día de los Muertos | Artist Conversation | Tequila Tasting

Join us for Ancient and Still: Día de los Muertos Artist Conversation and Tequila Tasting with photographer Kate Turning and sculptor Steven Jacobi. Based in Todos Santos, Baja, the artists draw inspiration from the region’s light, landscape, and spirit. Turning’s portraits of the rare Cirio trees explore nature’s impermanence through digital experimentation, while Jacobi’s clay vessels and wall pieces reflect the textures and history of Baja’s exposed terrain. Together, their works evoke themes of time, transformation, and endurance—echoing the reflective essence of Día de los Muertos. Enjoy an evening of conversation, art, and tequila celebrating what is both ancient and still.

Rhizomes: The Nexus of Art, Science, and Nature

Sunday, May 4th, 2025 4:00 - 6:00 pm

The event brought audiences into the misty, lyrical worlds of artist Issy Wilson, whose paintings explore forest ecosystems through the lens of art, science, and sustainability. Using natural pigments, cotton fibers, and handmade papers, Wilson’s work captures both the serenity and tension of the natural world—where roots, mosses, and rhizomes intertwine in the chemistry of life and art. A panel discussion moderated by Abigail Foerstner featured Paul Caradonna, Lucia Whalen, and Issy Wilson, each offering unique insights into the intersection of art, science, and nature. Special guest Lee Keegan, Wilson’s trail companion on their Appalachian trek and a seasoned educator and backpacker, shared reflections on her deep connection to the land and the stories it holds. Together, the evening illuminated the enduring dialogue between creativity and the natural world.

Oil & Water

Friday, March 7th, 6 - 8pm.

Show 7pm.

What began as a friendly joke between artists Joe Bednarski and Phil Gayter came to life in an energetic live painting showdown. The two seasoned artists faced off in a playful “battle of mediums,” blending storytelling, improv, and humor into an unforgettable evening. The performance brought art to a human level—mixing entertainment with genuine creative expression. As the artists put it, the goal was “to illuminate painting in a truly unique and fun way,” inviting audiences to appreciate the journey of painting, no matter the medium. By the end of the night, one thing was clear: oil and water do mix.

Ultimately, oil and water do mix.
